Da Nang – A –Must –Go Destination
Da Nang has been the most attractive destination in the world recently. More and more tourists make their trip to Da Nang city to experience the beauty of friendly people, unique culture and impressive landscapes. Once you go there, you should not miss these must-visit places. Here is our “Da Nang Travel” blog detailing the best things to do in Da Nang, Vietnam.
1. Sunbathe on one of the beaches
Da Nang is surrounded by beaches. They are slightly less breathtaking as the ones you will see in Thailand, but they are very clean. In fact, they are the cleanest I’ve seen so far in South East Asia. During the day, until around 3 pm, they are mostly deserted and quiet, so you can really enjoy your time here.
Swimming and joining the exciting marine activities in the season from April to July. You will not only be immersed in the clear blue sea known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world but also participate in many activities serving for the festival season. Drift away with the music from near by bars. Besides, you can either buy a parasol or rent a deck chair with one on the beach. A whole day will cost you 40,000 VND.
2. Marble Mountain
The Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son or “Five Elements Mountains). It is considered as a “spiritual” land of Quang Nam – Da Nang. The Marble Mountain includes 5 spectacular mountains which are named after 5 elements of the universe: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth.
Every mountain has its own particular beauty in both shape and position with many caves and temples inside. The fanciful and dreamlike space, sacred temples, monumental caves, green trees, white sea waves and the temple bell all contribute to the fairy tail picture of this wonderful land. Marble Mountain – Da Nang is truly a heaven for all tourists.
Marble Mountains Entrance Fee: 20.000 VND
3. Son Tra Peninsula
Son Tra Peninsula is also famous with Tien Sa Mountain. Its name is from a legend that Son Tra was called as a stop for farries in the past. Known as the only jungle in Da Nang, Son Tra Peninsula is considered as a hidden jewel of this coastal city. At a size of over 4000 hectares, this place is totally massive.
Son Tra is a perfect getaway from the city and perfect for those wondering what to do in Da Nang. There are plenty of untouched beaches along the peninsula and some excellent viewpoints, making this one of the most pristine beautiful places in Da Nang.
The journey to discover Son Tra can be started with the monumental view from Vong Canh Hill. You can be immersed in white sand and blue sea at Ngoc Mountain and admire Hai Van Pass from a distance. At the end of the journey, you can admire the highest Buddha statue where the majority of spiritual locals and tourists often go to.
In addition, Son Tra Peninsula offers a fresh cool climate, with beautiful natural landscapes with rich flora and fauna, it converges all the elements for visitors to participate in fun activities, camping, picnic and fascinating adventure in the pristine jungle.
4. Ba Na Hill
Ba Na Hill is an eco-resort combining a relaxing and entertaining area with modern equipment. It luckily has an ideal climate all year round and is a perfect tourist destination with four separate seasons in a day. Particularly, morning – spring, noon – summer, afternoon – autumn and evening – winter.
From above, visitors can see a vast view of superb beaches, the whole of Danang city and green rice fields to the endless horizon.
The entertainment area is designed for all ages, combined with lots of gardens such as love gardens, a vineyard, a fairy garden and an indoor amusement park named Fantasy Park. There is also a village of villas which was built in the style of French architecture. This village is always a not-to-be-missed stop for photo lovers.
Location: Hoa Vang District, 40 km to the southwest of Da Nang.
Open hour: 07:30 AM – 09:30 PM
Admission fee: 15.5 USD – 24.0 USD
Best visit time: 10 am – 5 pm
5. Have fun at Asia Park
Asia Park is one of the biggest and most modern amusement parks in South East Asia. Its Ferris wheel provides amazing views of the city and is a prominent feature of Da Nang’s night landscape. There are no crowds here at all and in some places, you can feel like you’re in an abandoned but still functioning amusement park.
There’s also a small train called the Monorail, which will take you around the area and from which you can see the bridges of Da Nang. This was probably my favorite activity there, although I also liked the Sun Wheel.
Visit the park at night to experience the beauty and gorgeous of the city.
6. Enjoy the unique beauty of the bridge
As a city owning much unique and beautiful bridges, Da nang will lead you to it’s appealing streets when seeing the unique and strange architecture of these great bridges.
Da Nang – The city of unique and beautiful bridges. Dragon Bridge with it’s fire and water spraying feature, especially at 9 pm every Saturday and Sunday. Dragon Bridge in Da Nang is the longest bridge in Vietnam, offering a dazzling display of lights, fire, and water that no first-time visitor to Da Nang should miss out on. Measuring at 666 meters in length, it is located in Da Nang City and constructed in the shape of a golden dragon.
Han river bridge is a unique swing-bridge in Vietnam used as a trade route in the past. Currently, it is considered an attractive attraction because of its unique feature.
Da nang also has many beautiful bridges such as Thuan Phuoc Bridge, Love Bridge…
7. Linh Ung Pagoda
This is one of the most sacred pagodas in Vietnam.
Located on the Son Tra peninsula and embracing the sea. Linh Ung Bai is one of the pilgrimage places that many visitors love to visit in holidays or on new year’s day.
Pilgrimage and praying for good things and enjoy the unique beauty of the architecture in Linh Ung will make your soul become fresh and peaceful.
8. My Son Holy Land
Located around 40 minutes drive from Da Nang. There are multiple companies that organize trips there, or you can drive by yourself. Be careful when using the roads in Vietnam as they can be dangerous and busy.
The site is not as big as the ancient temples in Cambodia, but provide a great insight into the country’s past. There is a small museum at the entrance and all of the ruins have signs with information. It’s a nice place to walk around, but mind the fact that it gets quite hot in the summer, so take some water with you.
9. Snorkel in Cham Islands
This was my favorite thing to do in Da Nang. If you want to see coral reefs and some colorful fish, take a trip to Cham Islands – a really beautiful spot, located only an hour by boat from the shores of Da Nang. It makes a great day trip, or you can camp there for a couple of days.
10. Take a trip to Hoi An
The ancient town of Hoi An is only half an hour drive from Da Nang. It is a great option for a day trip. You can also stay there for a weekend. There are plenty of things to see and do there and the town is lovely. Besides, I highly recommend going there for the Full Moon celebrations, which take place every month.
11. Da Nang Travel – is great for nightlife.
If you’re looking for clubs, where you can dance until dawn, or enjoy a quiet drink in a bar overlooking the River, this city won’t disappoint you. Don’t miss the Sky 36, where you can admire the illuminated city at night. Golden Pine is the most popular bar among young Vietnamese and local expats.
